Will the contracts for the provision of services continue? This was said by Petro

President Gustavo Petro assured that contracts for the provision of serviceswhich “exploit the workers” they should go down in history. This decision, according to the president, would not affect the country’s economy.

(Tax would worsen possible recession in the country, according to experts).

“In the formal world we believe that the contract for the provision of non-labour services, which covers up an employment relationship in a lying way, only to over-exploit the worker, must go down in history and that we must return to agreed labor relations”, Petro pointed out during the ‘Ibero-American Forum: challenges of formalizing labor’, which took place in the country’s capital.

And I add: “And what is going to end the economy? What is going to end the economy? Well, what I see is that the most developed economies have higher salaries than us. There may be discussion. Do they have higher salaries today than 15 years ago?”, affirmed the president.

In this regard, the Minister of Labor, Gloria Ramírez, assured that in the labour reform a form of contracting will be proposed in favor of the advancement of labor formalization.

(The reasons of the companies that did not lower energy rates).

What we are proposing through the labor reform, we are going to structure a form of contracting that effectively removes from our scenario this process of having contracts that separate the rights of workers, we are going to make a transition process to go little to little progress towards labor formalization”, said the minister.
