Táchira’s 4th Court decreed conviction consisting in 15 years in prison for Yeferson Jesús Díaz Gómez (32) for his responsibility in the homicide of Yair Severiche Mier, the Public Ministry reported.
Such an incident occurred on January 16, 2016 within a house located in the La Esperanza neighborhood, La Fría, García de Hevia municipality, Táchira. In the early hours of that date the victim slept in the company of his partner, when Díaz Gómez and a teenager entered the home and, with white weapons in hands, attacked Mier; who fit 24 puncture wounds that caused death on the site.
The criminals fled from the place aboard a motorcycle driven by a third party. According to the forensic evaluation, the body presented 7 wounds in the left scapular region; 2 additional wounds in the right infraescapular region; two wounds in the left interscapular region; two wounds in the upper interscapular region; two wounds in the left lateral region of the neck; A wound in the lumbar region right side and a wound in the middle lumbar region.
Additionally, the body had wounds in the neck, among other parts of the body, the prosecution broken down.
After the beginning of the investigations, the couple of the deceased identified one of those responsible for the fact and Díaz Gómez was apprehended on August 28, 2023 at the control point of Jordan, via the null (Apure) to be left available to the Prosecutor’s Office, says the bulletin.
