Wilfredo Oscorima promised to resolve the mining problem before August 28
On August 7, Oscorima promised in the Huamanga square to resolve the mining problem before the end of August, offering as guarantee (once again) his resignation from the position of Governor of Ayacucho.
“Before August 28, those companies will no longer be at the platform table. Before the 28th, we will bring them the document with the technical report of the Huanta resolution. If I do not comply, I will resign,” said Oscorima.
At another point in the same speech, Oscorima reminded the population of his closeness to the high officials of Dina Boluarte’s Government: “Who is it that seeks to relate with the ministers? Who makes the technical files? How did we get the budgets?”, he says with total freedom.

Wilfredo Oscorima will seek re-election: “I am the one who can do everything”
A few weeks ago, Wilfredo Oscorima introduced himself to leaders of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro River Valley (Vraem) as ‘the wayki’. He subsequently made his re-election to the post official with the Alliance for Progress (APP) party.
The man also under investigation promised to deliver a project this year, and said that if he does not deliver it, he will resign. “If I do not finish by December, I will resign and leave. Since I am going to stay until 2030 (…) because they are going to support me, right? Trust me, I am the ‘wayki’, the one who can do everything,” he said.
Wilfredo Oscorima asks Ayacucho residents “who brings the budgets” for works and they answer: “The Rolexes!”
The protests against the regional governor of AyacuchoWilfredo Oscorima, continue to intensify, in the midst of the investigation he faces along with the president Dina Boluarte for the Rolex Case. During a public event, protesters, who are participating in a strike to protect the Razuhuillca mountain range from mining, approached the governor to question him about his unfulfilled promises.
In response to the complaints, Oscorima highlighted his closeness to senior officials of Dina Boluarte’s government, stating: “Who is it that seeks to relate to the ministers? Who makes the technical files? How have we obtained the budgets?” This attitude contrasts with the attitude he showed when he was summoned to the Congressional Oversight Committee, where he invoked his right to remain silent in response to all questions related to the Rolex Case.
Following his statements, the Ayacucho protesters challenged him with the chant “The Rolex, the Rolex”, in protest of the way in which the budget increases in the region are being managed and the alleged acceleration in the approval of technical files, which favor the image of Wilfredo Oscorima.
