He Regional Governor of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorimaintroduced himself as “the wayki” during a meeting with leaders of the Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro River Valley (Vraem), in which he made official his re-election to the position with the Alliance for Progress (APP) party.
In addition, the businessman under investigation promised to deliver a project and assured that if he does not deliver it, he will resign. “If I do not finish by December, I will resign and leave. Since I am going to stay until 2030 (…) because they will support me, right? Trust me, I am the ‘wayki’, the one who can do everything,” he exclaimed.
He later added: “I have the interest and the will to continue working for my people because there are still tasks to accomplish, there are things to do. We are going with Alianza para el Progreso, confirmed.”
On the other hand, his confirmation to run for APP comes despite the fact that the leader of this party, César Acuña, rejected his participation. “My brother really likes to publish his personal breakfast that they have had, but there is nothing official, we have not talked. We must be very careful in trying to incorporate governors,” he said at the beginning of July.
Acuña’s statements come after Humberto Acunaformer regional governor of Lambayeque announced the return of Wilfredo Oscorima, regional governor of Ayacucho and former member of the party to APP. “Today is a day of great joy and optimism for our political party Alianza Para El Progreso. We welcome with open arms the return to our ranks of a tireless fighter for the development of our country, the Regional Governor of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorima,” Humberto Acuña announced on his official Facebook account.
“I am joined at the table by my friend Percy Rivas, former congressman for Ayacucho, and the mayor of the province of Huanta, Belisario Lope Romaní,” he added. His statement was accompanied by a photo in which the aforementioned political figures appeared.
