The Department of Nursing carried out various training courses aimed at staff in order to be at the forefront and innovate in the application of biosafety protocols, in addition to providing support in the field of Mental Health.
The Mgt. Dr. María Concepción Chávez mentioned that the pandemic remains a great challenge, since all the white personnel must be continually updated on the biosecurity issuebe it in management at the patient level, between workers and at the institutional level in the correct use of the protocols.
Another noteworthy activity was the instruction that the nursing staff received regarding the breast cancer prevention, so that the pertinent controls and studies are carried out annually. This after a registry that allowed the detection of a large number of Nursing personnel with cancer and especially breast cancer.

Aftermath
Through the Department of Psychology and Kinesiology, the area is working on improving the quality of the staff, considering that many nursing staff have been left with aftermath after the pandemicboth in the respiratory aspect and mobility.

Patient safety protocol
Dr. Chávez referred to another fundamental aspect that the UNA Faculty of Medical Sciences assumed, such as approving the “Patient Safety Protocol”This is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Health.
This year the institution has a own instrumentapproved under Resolution No. 1544, with axes such as the correct identification of the patient, the management of high-risk medications, transfer of safe guard, nursing records, the prevention of pressure ulcers and prevention of falls for patients.
