According to Zulma Navas, Juan Almeida took refuge in alcohol due to personal conflicts caused by being part of the “world he himself had gotten into” and confessed that both her son and she suffered due to Almeida’s state of health.
Three days after the death of Juan Almeida, one of those arrested for the PDVSA Cripto corruption scandal, his widow, Zulma Navas de Almeida, stated that the death was caused by her husband’s consumption of alcohol.
The attorney general appointed by the illegitimate constituent assembly, Tarek William Saab, explained that death was caused by a picture of liver cirrhosis that Almeida suffered, which is why he was granted a substitute measure of freedom of “house for jail”.
Saab’s explanation, however, sparked rumors on social networks, especially since days ago another of the detainees, Leoner Azuaje, died in police custody.
Given the rumors, Zulma Navas published in her instagram account a series of stories to clarify the context in which Almeida died, with bruised health from four years of excessive alcohol consumption.
“Given the wave of rumors on social networks, I make this statement to ask you to please respect the pain of the family. Juan’s death was due to a condition caused by the excessive intake of alcoholic beverages during the last four years, “he reasoned.
According to Navas, her husband took refuge in alcohol due to personal conflicts caused by being part of the “world he himself had gotten into” and confessed that both her son and she suffered due to Almeida’s state of health.
«In the bottom of his heart, he was tired and wanted to get out of that world in which he himself had gotten himself, but at the same time, his ego did not allow him to admit it, and so he had the internal struggle in his soul and neither You can imagine how much I struggled to get him out of there, since my son and I were being very affected, “he said.
His participation in that “world”, as Navas calls it, is due to his relationship with the former Minister of Oil, Tareck El Aissami, since he is designated as the “hacker” of the former official.
The Prosecutor’s Office accused him of being one of the “technological operators” of the corruption cases, converting the money obtained from the sale of oil through cryptocurrency platforms.
