Two hundred free internet points have been installed to date by the Prefecture of Esmeraldas, through the Department of Technology and Information Management, in the most remote rural communities of the province.
So far, more than 800 thousand devices such as cell phonesTablet, computers, laptops, among others have been connected to the Wi-Fi points installed.
The installation of Wi-Fi in rural areas contributed in times of pandemic to children and adolescents, so that do not miss the rhythm of the classeswhich were virtual due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19.
With the implementation of Wi-Fi points, the Prefecture of Esmeraldas programs training aimed at beneficiaries giving as an example the one carried out in the northern part of the province, where thousands of people of various ethnic groups benefited.
