The CEO of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Daren Tang, will visit the Dominican Republic where he will make a series of contacts, including with President Luis Abinader, meetings and activities organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MCIM).
The leader of WIPO will visit users of the system and plans to sign agreements with the MICM and the Institute of Higher Education Specialized in Diplomatic and Consular Training (Inesdyc), to promote the innovation, creativity and socioeconomic development.
Tang’s visit takes place within the framework of the Seventh Ministerial Meeting of Central America and the Dominican Republic on intellectual propertyin which delegations from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama will participate.
The Dominican Republic is hosting the VII Ministerial Meeting of Central America and the Dominican Republic on intellectual propertyin which the conference “Promoting solutions: the intellectual property as a tool of innovationtransformation and subregional economic recovery”, whose thematic axis is the post-COVID-19 subregional economic reactivation.
Tang will participate in meetings with Abinader, the head of the MICM, Víctor Bisonó, as well as with the directors of the National Office of Intellectual property (Onapi) and the National Copyright Office (ONDA), Salvador Ramos and José Rubén Gonell, respectively.
