Why Minsalud asked to restrict movement of people without yellow fever vaccine

Following the growing concern for yellow fever outbreak in several regions of the country, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramilloled a NATIONAL EXTRAORDINARY NATIONAL UNIFIED POSITION (PMU)in which it was about measures to contain the spread of the virus.

During the meeting, Jaramillo called on Army, local mayors and the Ministry of Transportation to reinforce the entrance and exit controls of people in the municipalities considered high risk of infection.

According to the Ministry of Health, There are 111 municipalities who are in a critical situationin departments such as Tolima, Putumayo, Arauca, Casanare, Amazonas, Guainía, Guaviare, Vaupés, Vichadaamong others.
