One of the most talked about topics in recent days is about what will be the main adjustments that will be seen at the beginning of 2023.
(Extra transfers and more government measures to curb inflation).
In fact, and despite the repercussions that this will have on the citizens’ budget, many experts agree that it is positive that prices rise year after year. Why? We tell you.
According to Jeisson Balaguera, CEO of Values AAA, in general terms it is good that there is growth in the price of products and services, but This increase or inflation must be accompanied by greater economic growth.
(Core inflation? What is it and how will the government use it in the crisis).
“A country has economic growth that is reflected in the Gross Domestic Product and, at the same time, reports inflation, which is how products and services increase in price,” says Balaguera.
And he adds: “The Government can generate high income but if the expenses exceed the income, then, really, it means that the situation of the country is not so good. In other words, Colombia may grow economically speaking, but if inflation “eats” that income, in the end the country would not be well.“.
Of course, in the case of Colombia, there will be increases that occur immediately with the beginning of 2023, and others that will appear gradually throughout the year.
(Products that would not go up with the deindexation proposed by the Government).
“The increases approved in the tax reform are immediate. However, next year many products and services will depend on the supply and demand of the moment. For example, with the issue of masks, the supply was low and the demand was high, so the price of this input rose significantly,” explains the expert in economic matters.
