Last year the firm owner of the National Beer Factory (FNC) intended to close that source of work in mines and fully focus on “importing cans from Argentina that were manufactured in Uruguay of the Pilsen, Patricia, Norteña and Zonertal brands. The mobilization of the guild had its positive result, no more cans of the aforementioned brands were imported and 59 workers were reintegrated”.
“We come with full activity in mines plant from the reopening when it was achieved that the FNC cans in Argentina were not manufactured. We are in the month of licenses and in May we resume the work 59” operators.
The Uruguayan market is invaded from imported beers, several of them from Spain, that has to do “with a price policy. There are some wholesale distributors who obviously bet on such things”, however, the national brands “are well positioned” in the market, said the president of the National Factory of Beer.
