The main objective of updating the cards is to protect users against fraud and optimize security in daily transactions. Among the most notable changes is the relocation of the data printed on the plastic. From now on, the name, number, security code and expiration date will be located on the back of the cards.
Another important innovation is the incorporation of tactile signals in Mastercard debit and credit cards, which will facilitate their identification for people with visual disabilities. Debit cards will have a round sign, while credit cards will have a square sign, thus providing greater accessibility for all users.
Until when is the deadline to change cards?
Bancolombia has invited its clients to change cards gradually. Despite the new designs, current cards will continue to work until their expiration date. “These cards will be available to users once the inventory of the previous design is exhausted in the bank’s branches… Once this date is met, customers will be able to receive a new one at home at no additional cost,” the entity stated.
If you are interested in requesting your new card, the first thing you should do is go to the official Bancolombia channels to manage the change.
With this initiative, Bancolombia not only seeks to modernize its product offering, but also contribute to caring for the environment, a commitment that is aligned with current consumer demands.
