Hospital Territorial de Cárdenas "Julio Miguel Aristegui Villamil"

“They no longer say they have reagents,” the complaining mother asked for the authorities.

Miami, United States. – A mother from Cárdenas, Matanzas, He denounced on Facebook That his 15 -year -old – patient with idiopathic arthritis – has been with high fever for days and hepatitis without the hospital and local polyclinic can guarantee basic analytical exams or medications to lower the temperature.

The complaint occurs in the middle of the rebound at the provincial level of several arbovirosis, allegedly dengue and chikungunya.

“How much indignation, I do not know what the health managers resolve saying that everything is, when we know that reality is another (…). A child who is happening one of the virosis that I do not know what is due to lack of reagents, with high fever of 40 degrees and without a polyclinic that responds because every time I go there is nothing to lower fever, with a hepatitis that was detected by urine and transaminase without lack of reagents. Who will respond for my son’s health? ”Asked the woman, identified as Yulianela Yoliesky Amador.

The mother also said that on October 5 she attended the teenager to the Cárdenas Territorial Hospital “Julio Miguel Aristegui Villamil” and, although she thanked the care of the doctor on guard and the ultrasound technique, lamented the situation of the emergency laboratory: “A single technique working in the emergency laboratory and also assuming 16 cases of room, it is inhuman for her and also for patients who need to be Wait for long hours.

The main examination that the woman claims was not performed due to lack of inputs: “How to solve a transaminase analysis and thus be able to know everything about the hepatitis of my son linked to a possible dengue if the hospital does not have reagents to do it [sic]? They no longer say that they have reagents, all my son’s data I left in that hospital, the one who is a doctor knows that not performing this analysis in time can cost lives, sadly I saw several children in my same situation, ”he lamented.

That same night of October 5, Yoliesky Amador went to the Polyclinic “José A. Echeverría”, where he assures that there was no injectable analgesic to mitigate the fever: “What a big helplessness I felt when I saw that I had to return with my son home fly in fever because [a las] 9:00 and peak at night there was no duralgina to inject into the polyclinic, ”he wrote.

He also asked the authorities “at least prioritizing the children” and added that he expected the visit of the “home income” team that should attend the child.

In A subsequent publicationthe mother also questioned the institutional response and the supply, and responsible for those in charge of her health area: “I will not have publicly denounced all this outrage. I take responsibility for what may happen to my son to all the personnel who correspond to attend him.” In the same publication he insisted on the lack of “reagents” to confirm the diagnosis and lack of medications to lower fever.

Complaints coincide with the deterioration of the provincial epidemiological scene. This Tuesday It transcended that the Cuban government had begun to transfer health personnel to Matanzas “to support the complicated epidemiological situation”, according to He reported on Facebook The official journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso.

“Group of health professionals will arrive in Matanzas to support the complicated epidemiological situation of the province. Several municipalities of the Athens have elevated figures of patients as a result of the proliferation of mosquitoes,” wrote the reporter of the Caribbean Canal.

For its part, the provincial newspaper, Girónrecognized Chikungunya transmission in the 13 municipalities of Matanzas and Dengue in 12, as well as a deficit of vector control personnel (777 active workers of 1,341 planned) and the lack of fumigation equipment.

Despite that picture, the official medium insisted that “the hygienic-epidemiological situation remains stable, without epidemics transmissions”, an affirmation that contrasts with the sending of reinforcements and citizen testimonies that describe tensioning health centers, shortage of medicines and even payments to access beds or obtain health priority.

Already on September 22, there was news of a “peak of febrile syndromes in several municipalities” Matanceros, with affected complete homes and circulation of dengue serotypes. That day, the director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, Andrés Lamas Acevedo, declared to Girón: “Seotypes three and four are circulating [de una arbovirosis que no identificó]and it is possible that serotype two that is presented in Havana and Villa Clara is introduced soon. The Matancos Municipalities of Martí and Perico are in active transmission of that scourge. ”

Meanwhile, Yuneisy Santana González, an Internet user resident in Cárdenas, He described on Facebook The panorama in its neighborhood: “I don’t know what ray is this virus, but it is strong and we are so vulnerable and homeless of everything. (…) Mosquitoes with these waters multiply and raise you in weight and spend the days, the weeks and you see no action of the organisms commissioned by fumigating, or collecting the mountains of garbage.”

On the same date the activist Amelia Calzadilla claimed Extraordinary measures: “How many critical, serious, convalescent cases or in danger need to accumulate, presidency Cuba [enlace al perfil de la Presidencia de Cuba]in the Matanzas province before decreeing a state of sanitary emergency by febrile syndrome of unknown origin and entering a quarantine period?! “, and demanded:” It is essential the information now. Ask humanitarian aid, fuck; It is the life of the people. ”
