The coverage of the Tenth National Population and Housing Census 2022 that is carried out in the country is being monitored by 24 professionals from three directions of the National Statistics Office (ONE).
The experts are collaborators of the departments of Demographic, Social and Environmental Statistics; Standards and Methodology; and Economic Statistics.
The team’s mission is to monitor the coverage and quality of the census registration process, through the analysis of the data received from the territory and reflected in a monitoring and control panel.
The data they receive comes from mobile devices (tablets), which are used by census takers to collect information on each family in the country.
From the control base, the experts can issue alerts on the possible omission of dwellings, households and population based on the defined indicators, guaranteeing the quality of the data collected.
In addition, the professionals monitor the incidents registered in the following entities on a daily basis: homes, interviews and people.
The ONE has commissioned the three directorates to organize the work teams, which are responsible for carrying out the review at the provincial level and up to the enumerator level if a pattern or performance outside the expected ranges is identified.
These alerts are sent to the census operation team, which is in charge of transmitting them to the operational structure, so that it can proceed with the corresponding actions.
Each member of this team signed a confidentiality agreement. Enshrined in Law 50-96 on Statistics and censuses National: the Regional Code of Good Practices and in principle six of the fundamental principles of official statistics.
