Now as a member of the OAJ, Hernández Torres will be one of the five members responsible for the administration of human and financial resources of the Judiciary, which this year will manage more than 70,000 million pesos.
The newly appointed will take charge of the Judicial Career and Specialization Commission of the Agency, which was headed by her predecessor, Josefina Lorena Pérez Romo, who surprisingly resigned in January.
After being appointed in a private session of the Court, Hernández Torres protested the position she will occupy as of next February 9.
Who is Almendra Hernandez?
The still magistrate of the Administrative Justice Court of Mexico City (TJACDMX) is originally from Tamaulipas and began her judicial career in 2006, in Coahuila.
Although his appointment was unanimous, there are several controversies on his resume, as he made discriminatory expressions during a public session of the TJACDMX and for this reason a complaint was filed against him.
That happened in October 2022 during a virtual Court session, in which, upset by the statements of the presiding judge Estela Fuentes on the issue of a law under discussion, she responded: “yes, I perfectly understand that it is in force. I do not have autism.”
Immediately, Judge Andrés Ángel Aguilera asked him: “Please don’t make those references, huh?”
“Sorry may not be the right word, but if the judge treats me as if I had some kind of mental retardation, autism came to mind, maybe I shouldn’t have said that,” the judge responded.

This fact generated a complaint before the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City.
Another case consists of the presentation of several complaints against him for alleged workplace harassment, which had given rise to more than a dozen changes in assignment requested by the affected personnel.
