In the midst of the crisis Petroperuthe General Meeting of Shareholders of the company appointed Rita Lopez Saavedra as general manager in charge of the oil company, as announced before the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SMV).
According to her Linkedin, the official is a chemical engineer with a master’s degree in Administration with a mention in Finance. She joined the state oil company in 2006 and worked as a technical analyst in the operational department.
Later he held other positions such as head of Operational Management Control, deputy manager of Strategy and Management Control, manager of the Economic Studies and Strategy department, manager of the Strategic Planning and Management Control department, process engineering analyst, manager in charge of Planning and Management, and manager of the Strategic Planning and Management Control department.
As this newspaper learned, the official was hired in 2006 without a competition and to work as a supervisory analyst. In addition, his area was responsible for evaluating the economic scenarios of the Talara Refinery Modernization project between 2012 and 2013. It should be noted that this project was carried out with an extra cost of US$6 billion.
It was also learned that in 2022, after the departure of Hugo Chávez from Petroperú, the new manager, together with Cristina Fung and Humberto Campodónico, participated in the formulation and reception of the first financial support from the Pedro Castillo government to the state company.
The official will be in charge of signing the work stoppages announced by the Government. It should be noted that as is known, her husband, who is also a chemical engineer, is, like her, part of Petroperú.
