A political scientist and former porn actor will be President Gustavo Petro’s new Minister of Equalitya questioned choice in the midst of recurring cabinet changes in the government.

Juan Carlos Florián, who openly recognizes that he was a sex worker and creator of pornographic content, was chosen by the president to assume at the head of a portfolio that he created in 2023 to guarantee access to social programs of the most vulnerable communities.
The Ministry of Equality was a campaign promise of Vice President France Márquez, the first Afro woman to reach that position in the history of the country.
More than 50 ministers have passed through the president’s cabinet, in the midst of crisis that have been registered in live televised tips.
Márquez assumed as head of the portfolio, but came out in February after disagreements with Petro and denounce “racism” in the government.

Petro is questioned by the opposition for his supposed lack of governance due to the instability of his cabinet.
