Who is Rubén Rocha Moya and what party is it?
Rubén Rocha Moya, current governor of Sinaloa for the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) Movement Party, has an extensive academic, political and administrative career. Originally from Badiraguato, he has a degree in Mathematics from the Superior Normal School of Oaxaca and has a master’s degree in Education Sciences from the Autonomous University of Querétaro, in addition to a PhD in Social Sciences from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS). His link with this last institution includes having been rector and general secretary.
In the political sphere, Rocha has held positions as Secretary General of the UAS Teachers’ Union and Morena state coordinator, in addition to having been a candidate for governorship in 1986 and 1998. As a legislator, he was a local deputy at the Sinaloa and Congress of Sinaloa and It has been recognized for its analysis on social issues, reflected in various books published on social movements, democracy and drug trafficking.
