“Our personal banking businesses outside of Hong Kong and the UK will be part of the international wealth and premium banking business, which will focus on growing the affluent segment of the market and creating strategic differentiation for us in the market in the that we operate in personal banking,” said Elhedery in the recent conference call of the bank’s third quarterly report.

Georges Elhedery He is originally from Lebanon, he is 50 years old, his family moved to France where he studied engineering at the Polytechnic School of Paris, then he completed a postgraduate degree in Statistics and Economics at the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique (ENSAE) , France.
Georges Elhedery He joined HSBC in 2005 as a Senior Global Markets Executive.and according to the official website of the banking institution, has extensive commercial experience in London, Paris and Tokyo. He was appointed CEO of the Group as of September 2, 2024.
The position he held before becoming the new global CEO was Group Financial Director from January 2023 to September 2024.
In Dubai he was Regional Director of Global Markets for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA); then as Director of Global Banking and Markets for MENA; and finally as HSBC CEO for the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye.
