The president José Jerí She offered her first television interview since taking office and one of the answers that caught the most attention was the clarification about who plays the role of first lady in her administration.
During the conversation, he explained that he is single and does not plan to start a formal relationship in the short term.
“I am a flirtatious being by nature in different aspects. From my interaction, from my communication (…) I am somewhat flirtatious with women,” he admitted.
However, he noted that he has no romantic closeness with any woman: “I have not gotten married until now. I have made the decision not to take that step,” declared the president.
For this reason, he indicated that his mother is the person closest to him and who, naturally, takes the place of first lady. In addition, he noted that he always accompanies him in family activities and in some formal spaces.
He described her as a central figure in his life and commented that she frequently visits the Government Palace, even accompanied by her seven dogs.
“The mother never leaves you and until now my mother is occasionally in the Government Palace,” he commented.
His statement comes after weeks of media speculation about possible romantic ties of the president, fueled by photographs and comments on social networks.
Jerí closed those rumors by pointing out that she is not in a relationship and that the figure of “first lady”, in her case, does not respond to a romantic presence but rather a family one.
