Who is Roberto Velasco?
The SRE office manager, 38 years old, has a degree in Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
The Senate of the Republic highlights that the official has written more than fifty articles, columns, reviews and interviews in both Spanish and English on his areas of specialization.
While studying in Chicago, Velasco was editor-in-chief of Chicago Policy Reviewa magazine published by students at the University of Chicago Harris School, and served in the city’s mayor’s office.
Before his career exploded in the Morenoist federal governments, he held positions in the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District, the Miguel Hidalgo delegation and in the Ministry of Economy of the Government of Mexico.
In interviews, the official has highlighted his unconditional support for the movement founded by Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He is one of the characters who went from one Morenoist government to the other.
