According to journalist Jesús Lemus, for several years Linda Pereyra was more than García Luna’s emotional support because, as he wrote, she also participated in some economic operations that brought important benefits to the couple, such as the start-up of the restaurant Los Cedros, located at Paseo de los Cedros number 1, Paseos del Sur neighborhood, in Xochimilco, Mexico City, registered by its owner Linda Cristina Pereyra Gálvez before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property under file number 878390 of August 28 of 2007.
As described, in 2010, when García Luna became the strongest man in Felipe Calderón’s government, the Tax Administration System (SAT) forgave taxes of around 4.7 million pesos.
Thus, the García Pereyra couple have also been accused of having benefited from the selective exemption from paying taxes.
In 2013, at the end of Felipe Calderón’s six-year term, The García Pereyra family moved to Miami.
