The economist José Antonio Salardi Rodríguez assumed Thursday the position of Minister of Economy and Finance, replacing José Arista. Until a few hours ago, he served as executive president of the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversion).
Salardi has extensive experience in the public sector. He was Minister of Production and Deputy Minister of Mype and Industries in the Ministry of Production.
In addition, he integrated the Corpac Board of Directors and presided over the Board of Directors of the Technical Agency for the Administration of Sanitation Services (OTASS), as well as the Proinversion Social Committee. He also held positions in the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) and in the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
He is an economist for the National University of San Marcos and has two masters in business administration and business management by universities in Spain and Chile. He has exercised teaching at the National University of Engineering (UNI) and at Ricardo Palma University.
