Who is Jorge Arce? This is his trajectory
Jorge Arce began his career in the financial sector in 1990 as vice president at Citibank, a position he held for five years. He later joined Bankers Trust, where he served as managing director until 1999.
That same year he assumed the general management of Deutsche Bank México, a role he held until 2016. During this period, he also served as managing director of Deutsche Bank globally, accumulating 21 years of experience in the institution. Later, he joined Santander México as deputy general director of Global Banking and Markets, a role he held until 2020.
He has a degree in Finance and Economics from Pace University in New York, training that allowed him to build an outstanding career in global banking, financial markets and strategic management.
HSBC Director
In February 2020, Jorge Arce assumed the position of CEO of HSBC Mexico. Two years later, in January 2022, he was also appointed president of the institution’s Board of Directors. In these roles, he has led key initiatives to strengthen the institution’s position in the Mexican market, aligned with the bank’s global strategy.
One of his main responsibilities has been to implement a business model focused on wealth clients and large companies. This approach responds to HSBC’s global restructuring, which seeks to consolidate its presence outside the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, as explained by the group’s global CEO, Georges Elhedery.
