Alfredo Martín Luna Briceño swore in as new Minister of Culture replacing Fabricio Valencia. Briceño is a civil engineer graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). He has complemented his training with a master’s degree in Management of Construction and Real Estate Companies from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, as well as with another master’s degree in Management and Management of Construction and Real Estate Companies from the PUCP.
He has also been linked to doctoral studies in Administrative Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.
In her professional career, Luna Briceño has held various positions in the cultural and academic sector. He was Vice Minister of Interculturality of the Ministry of Culture from August 2016 to April 2018.
Previously, he served as general director of the Administration Office of the Ministry of Culture and general secretary of said portfolio. He has also worked at the PUCP as a contracted teacher in Civil Engineering, directing both undergraduate and graduate courses, and has been manager of the Cultural Center of said university.
Furthermore, more recently in December 2024, he was appointed president of the board of directors of the Mivivienda SA Fund by Fonafe, which shows a shift towards managerial responsibilities in public housing and state financing entities.
