The Social Security Foundation for All (FSSPT) considers that the resolution 545-01 issued by the National Social Security Council (CNSS) It constitutes a step forward by favoring tens of thousands of affiliates in special situations and who require special solutions.
Arismendi Díaz Santana, president of the Foundation explained that the Council eliminated requirements to the procedure that allows affiliates to the Individual Capitalization System of the Contributory Regimewith a terminal illness withdraw their contributions from the Administrators of Pension funds (AFP).
The economist and former manager of the CNSS stated that the new resolution is different from the 350-02, issued in 2014, which established that it only applied if the member was not entitled to another benefit from the Dominican Social Security System. “But now 545-01 modifies the previous one to authorize the return of the accumulated fund, regardless of whether the member is entitled to another benefit,” Díaz Santana clarified.
The resolution
The CNSS provided that the term used by Dominican physicians in diagnosing patients with a prognosis with end-stage disease. The concept was expanded so that it does not exclude anyone with this situation.
With this, the procedures of the affiliates in this condition will be streamlined, and they can count on these economic resources at a time of great economic and emotional impact for both the patient and their families.
