The spectacular growth of the Uruguayan company DLocal earned it to become the first Uruguayan unicorn (that is, the first company to be worth more than US$1,000 million), but it is not the only thing, it also made its co-founders billionaires.

Andrés Bzurovski and Sergio Fogel are co-founders and directors of the fintech DLocal and also the latest Uruguayans to enter the renowned Billionaires list (billionaires) of Forbes. According to the most recent Forbes report, at 44 years old, Bzurovski owns 17% of the company’s shares, which places him in position 1,929 among the richest people in the world with US$1.5 billion.

Meanwhile Fogel, 58, also has 17% of the firm’s shares and occupies the same position on the list of the wealthiest, also with US$1.5 billion.

At 10:30 a.m. on June 3, 2021, the Uruguayan dLocal began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street, forming part of one of the greatest milestones in the history of the Uruguayan economy.

The richest

Forbes found 2668 billionaires or billionaires around the world for the list of billionaires in the world by 2022, down from last year’s record 2,755.
