Before saying goodbye to the year, on December 31 it was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation ( DOF ) the decree with the internal regulations of the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat, as part of the process of replacing the Public Service.

The Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat has the mission of preventing, detecting and punishing acts of corruption, giving greater focus to the processes and controls that ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, economy and transparency of the Federal Public Administration, essential to guarantee citizen trust. and promote a more ethical and responsible government that dignifies public service.

In compliance, on January 5, 2025, the secretary shared the list of its main holders within.

Who will be part of the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat?

Alejandro Encinas Nájera – Undersecretary of Good Government

Graduate in Political Science from UNAM, with a master’s degree in Political Science (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and a doctorate in Social Sciences (UAM).

Former official in the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (STPS) and the Ministry of Economy during the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with more than 15 years of experience in public service.

For his management in the Undersecretary of Good Government, he will lead the professionalization of the public service through training, trust and integrity controls, in addition to working with the private sector and civil society to promote government ethics and efficiency.

Guadalupe Araceli García Martínez – Anti-Corruption Undersecretary

She has a degree in Law, a master’s degree in Public Finance and Financial and Tax Administration and a doctoral student in Law and Social Sciences. She has more than 32 years of experience as a public servant in positions such as general director of Legislation and Fiscal and Budgetary Consultation of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), general director of Legal Affairs of the SHCP, Legal Director of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE), General Legal Administrator of the Tax Administration Service (SAT) and head of the Legal Support Unit of the Ministry of Economy.

In the subdirectorate, he will coordinate the planning, execution and evaluation of the inspection acts carried out by the Secretariat, as well as represent it in said matter and actions promoted derived from it, with the National Inspection System, the Superior Audit of the Federation and the entities supervisors of the federal entities, as well as focusing the function of the Internal Control Bodies in areas of greatest impact.

Carlos Patterson Olivas – Head of the Internal Control Body

He has a degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Innovation, he has diplomas in transparency, strategic planning, process redesign and tax law. He has held various positions in the Ministry of Public Administration, with 23 years of experience in auditing and supervision in the Federal Public Administration, standing out in the oil, finance and economic sectors.

Omar Sánchez Villegas – Head of the Unit to Combat Impunity

Doctor of Law with more than 20 years of experience in the public sector, he has held management positions in contentious, advisory, fiscal, resource administration, administrative responsibility, security, foreign trade and customs matters.

Othón Francisco Valverde Yáñez – Head of the Technical Support Unit

Chemical engineer from the Technological Institute of Durango, with a Master’s degree in Economics from El Colegio de México and a master’s degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Former Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, with more than 20 years at Pemex in industrial planning and evaluation.

Laura Leticia Juárez Jiménez – Head of the Legal Affairs Unit

She has a degree in Law from UNAM and a master’s degree in Tax Law from Queen Mary University of London. She is the former general director of Legislation and Consultation at the Ministry of Economy, and was also central administrator of Internal Tax Regulations at the Tax Administration Service (SAT) and general director of Legislation and Regulatory Studies at the Legal Department of the Federal Executive.

Marco Antonio Flores Garcia – Head of the Administration and Finance Unit

Graduate in Economics from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) and master in Public Administration from the Universidad del Valle de México. He has held various positions in the SHCP, in the then Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, in the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, as well as in the Ministry of the Interior, addressing various issues related to the administration of budgetary, human, material and technological resources. .
