A new agreement was signed in the province of Chiriquí, between the government and the authorities of the Comarca Ngäbe Bugle and Campesinos, to freeze the price of fuel at $3.30 and thus reopen the six (6) closure points in the Chiriquí East. , Horconcitos, San Juan, San Félix, Remedios, El Salado and Tolé.
The understanding between the parties took place in the district of San Félix, district of San Félix, province of Chiriquí, at 05:01 in the morning in the session of the Dialogue Table installed and made official by Resolution No. 081-R- 059 of July 15, 2022 by the Ministry of Government and the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen.
According to the document, the freezing of the price per gallon of fuel at $3.30 will be in force for three months and could be extended under the verification of the permanent commission that verifies the price of fuels at the international level, coordinated by the National Secretary of Energy.
“If the trend were to rise, it could be extended for three more months; however, if it were to fall, it would take advantage of the market price, ”establishes the letter.
Another point to know about this agreement and that remains pending to continue negotiating at the permanent dialogue table is to provide monthly support to land and sea route carriers, registered with the Land Transit and Transport Authority, and who are providing the service in the Ngäbe Bugle Comarca, which will be a physical coupon of $100, with this it is intended to guarantee the reduction in the price of the ticket to the users.
On Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10:00 am, the dialogue will resume to address the issues of the Basic Food and Medicine Basket.
