Which was the operating company with the best performance in mobile internet service in 2025?

The weighted average of mobile internet indicators for 4G networks, during 2025, was 77.88% at the national level, which represented an improvement compared to the average obtained in 2024 (75.60%), reported the Supervisory Body for Public Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL).

According to data reported to the OSIPTEL Mobile Internet Monitoring Panel, Entel (79.18%) and Claro (78.60%) They had the best performances in the annual evaluation of indicators, with averages above the annual average (77.88%). Then Bitel (77.42%) and Movistar (75.71%) were located.

The ranking of mobile internet indicators is prepared based on the average of the indicators of upload and download speed, latency, packet loss and coverage time, which allows for a comprehensive view of the performance of the mobile internet service offered by the main operating companies nationwide from the quality of user experience.

By region, Tumbes (81.32%), Callao (79.97%) and Lima (79.68%) had the best performances, while the regions with the lowest weighted averages were Madre de Dios (75.77%), Amazonas (75%) and Loreto (70.80%).

Performance by indicator

During 2025, the download speed (download) for 4G networks averaged 12.10 megabits per second (Mbps), a result higher than that reported in 2024 (11.46 Mbps), which allowed users to connect to their social networks, participate in video calls, use applications, among others, under appropriate conditions.

For its part, the latency indicator had a national average of 55.65 ms (milliseconds), which represented an improvement compared to 2024 (70.32 ms). Often confused with speed, latency causes the video that users played on their cell phone or the video call they connected to for online classes.

Meanwhile, the indicator of data packet loss (whose poor performance can cause the interruption of a data session or that we receive or send information with delays, intermittency or incompletely, in audio and video conferences, for example), registered an average of 0.80% at the national level, which meant an improvement compared to the result of 2024 (0.94%).
