The National Consumer Service (Sernac) has set out to provide families with options to optimize their budget. To this end, in September of last year, it carried out a comparative study of prices of the basic basket in several supermarkets in the country, offering consumers a guide to make more informed and convenient decisions.
This analysis was based on data collected by the “Price Observatory”, which monitors food prices in various commercial establishments nationwide. This study represents the latest report carried out by Sernac on the price of the Basic Basket in the supermarkets Chileans.
According to the results obtained, the Supermarket The most economical in terms of the basic basket was Santa Isabel, while the most expensive was Unimarc. The price difference between the two can be significant, reaching up to 15 thousand pesos. This basic basket included a variety of products such as meat, chicken, rice, drinks, bread and vegetables.
