The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, recalled that this support will have an increase starting next year and that the only thing missing is the approval of the budget allocated to it.
“I take this opportunity to say that as of January the pension increases 25% and in January 24 another 25%,” he said on October 17 at a press conference.
The head of the Executive assured that when his six-year term ends, the elderly will be receiving double the pension of what they received at the beginning of his administration.
“Older adults, all of them, about 12 million older adults in the country,” he pointed out.
