On May 29, 2023, the General Health Law was reformed, and the body IMSS Bienestar absorbed the functions of Insabi. This medical service began to operate in Mexico City on July 1, 2024 in the medical units and hospital centers that were operated by the Ssa.

Despite The federal program is focused on people who are not beneficiaries of the IMSS, ISSSTE, Pemex, Sedena, Semar, Medical service will not be denied, in accordance with the provisions of its guidelines.
Free health options in Mexico and requirements
To access the services offered by the IMSS Bienestar you must go to the nearest Health center with the following documents:
- Unique population registration key (CURP), original and copy.
- If you are a beneficiary of IMSS or ISSSTE, present the original and a copy of the affiliation document.
- If you do not have CURP, provide the original and copy of: birth certificate and proof of address. Check the complete documents at this link .
The delivery of these documents does not condition the provision of medical services immediately and free of charge to the population.
