Keiko Fujimori He gave a press conference after the Constitutional Court decided to annul the Cocktails Case, a process by which up to 30 years in prison was requested against the leader of Fuerza Popular.
In conversation with the press, he referred to the decision of the TC, pointing out that justice was used as a political tool instead of fighting against insecurity.
“Our claim is not against justice, but against deformation and those who used justice as a political weapon, when they should have used scarce resources to protect those who are victims of extortion, threats and hitmen that take lives,” he assured.
“We know that a new election is coming and with it pseudo investigations like the one in 2021, new complaints, new headlines, new persecutions and that is not right. Democracy and the ordinary citizen lose, becoming a supposed spectator of how justice seeks to do politics and is the true victim of a State distracted by disputes when what is needed is to restore security,” he added.
Likewise, he noted that he has not personally decided to denounce the prosecutors in charge of his case, but reported that the party will evaluate whether it does so.
“I am not going to denounce the prosecutors, the political party is going to evaluate it. The more than 40 people involved in these processes have every right to do so,” said the leader of Fuerza Popular.
On the other hand, when asked about her possible candidacy for the 2026 general elections, she indicated that she has not decided, but that she will announce whether she does it or not in a short time after evaluating it: “In a few days I will make the decision with my daughters and I will make the announcement.”
