“The parties jointly requested the suspension of the process for a period of 60 business days. In accordance with article 161.2 of the CGP, the suspension of the process is appropriate when: “the parties request it by mutual agreement, for a certain period of time. The oral or written presentation of the request immediately suspends the process, unless the parties have agreed otherwise.” For its part, the third paragraph of article 1621 of said norm establishes that the suspension of the process takes effect from the execution of the ruling that decrees it.“said the court.

It also mentions that since the suspension of the process was requested by all the parties involved, the office agreed to decree it as of October 4.

That is why the court decided to decree “the suspension of this process, for a period of 60 business days, a period that will run from October 4, 2024 to January 23, 2025“.
Thomas Greg’s complaint
Thomas Greg & Sons, which has been responsible for the issuance of passports in Colombia for the last few years, sued the Colombian State for 117,000 million pesosafter the Foreign Ministry, then headed by Alvaro Leyvadeclared void the tender for the issuance of passports in which the firm met all the requirements to retain the contract.
