When there are no classes in October on the Technical Council?
According to the official calendar of the SEP, the next session of the School Technical Council will be the Friday, October 31.
These events correspond to meetings of the management and teaching staff of the preschool, primary and secondary schools of Mexico, in which proposals linked to the curriculum as well as pedagogical strategies adapted to the educational needs of the communities are discussed.
Due to the nature of these discussions, the regular classes are suspended and the students of all basic levels will have an additional rest day.

Technical Council dates (CTE) 2025-2026
The SEP establishes these assemblies on the last Friday of the month, so it is easier to predict when children and adolescents will not go to school. In this way, these are the official dates according to the calendar:

– March 27, 2026
– May 29, 2026
– June 26, 2026
The months in which ordinary technical council sessions were not scheduled (December and April) are because they are among holiday periods.

In addition to the aforementioned dates, by CTE, The next official rest day corresponds to Monday, November 17for the commemoration of the Mexican Revolution. The suspension of work is traveled in accordance with article 74 of the Federal Labor Law.

SEP holidays in 2025
The first holiday period is contemplated from Monday, December 22, 2025 to Tuesday, January 6, 2026. However, this date only applies to teachers, since from January 7 to 9 they will have intensive workshops.
