The Government VAT refund that seeks to benefit the most vulnerable households in the country. Through this program, a part of the Value Added Tax (VAT) that these households pay on their daily purchases. When is the next turn for this initiative?
What is VAT?
VAT is a tax that applies to most goods and services consumed in Colombia. That money goes to the State and is then reinvested, however, to reduce poverty, the current administration has decided to return that money to families so that they can make future purchases.
How often is the VAT refund made?
Refunds are made periodically and is deposited directly into the beneficiary’s bank account, it is estimated to be every two months, and they are established as different cycles. The amount of the refund depends on several factors, such as the number of household members and their income.
On this occasion, the next payments, corresponding to cycles 4 and 5, will be executed on October 30 and December 26.
For its part, to be able to access this program, nothing is necessary, since the data is taken from the Sisbén IV and/or Social Registry of Households. The only requirement is to keep the information about where you reside updated.

What groups can access this benefit?
Households must be registered in the Sisben IV and belong to groups A1, A2, A3, A4 or A5.
indigenous homes and those in moderate poverty must be in groups B1, B2, B3 or B4.
