More than 965,834 vehicles already circulate in the Dominican Republic with their Vehicle Circulation Tax (tag) 2024-2025 renewed, representing 51.02% of the vehicle fleet, which amounts to 1,893,024 units.
The data from the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) details that, through the Internet, they have been dispatched 116,876 labels, for a collection of 214,057,500 pesos.
On the other hand, at the points ofto DGII they were renewed 32,005 Vehicle Circulation Taxrecording a collection of 72,111,000 pesos.
The DGII informed Free Diary that until yesterday, at 3:55 in the afternoon, financial entities had renewed 816,953 labels, contributing 1,338,246,000 pesos to the treasury. The total amount collected from the renewal of the tax on 965,834 vehicles amounts to 1,624,414,500 pesos.
On October 22, 2024, the label renewal period 2024-2025 for 1,893,024 working vehicles. The DGII It is estimated that collections will reach 3,137,673,000 pesos during this process. Drivers have until January 31 to renew the tag.
Label costs:
- 1,500 pesos for vehicles manufactured until 2019
- 3,000 pesos for vehicles manufactured in 2020 and later years
The renewal is available through 49 financial entities with 859 branches throughout the country, as well as in the collection offices of the DGII in Villa Vásquez, Montecristi, and Sánchez, Samaná, until January 31, 2025.
Virtual renewal
Taxpayers can also renew virtually through the website dgii.gov.do and the application DGII mobile.
For renewal it is necessary to have a photocopy of the license plate of the vehicle updated and legible, in addition to a copy of the identity and electoral card.
Amounts for sanctions
The amounts for sanctions for non-renewal during the established period are the following:
- 2,000 pesos for vehicles that are not renewed before January 31, 2025
- 2,100 for vehicles that did not renew the tag 2023-2024
- 3,100 for vehicles that were not renewed in the tag 2022-2023 and previous years
