When is San Francisco de Asís celebrated and what miracles are attributed to him?

Who was San Francisco de Asís?

Francisco was born in Italy between 1181 or 1182 in a wealthy family, his father was a rich merchant, while his mother belonged to royalty. They baptized him with the name of Juan and during his childhood he did not suffer from economic problems, on the contrary, he gave alms to the less favored people.

In his youth, struggles were unleashed between the cities of Perugia and Assisi that led to the detection of Francisco who spent a year imprisoned and when leaving, he became seriously ill.

In 1204 when he was about to continue in battle and when he was praying before the crucifix in the abandoned church near San Damiano, out of the walls of Assisi, he heard a voice telling him the phrases: “rebuild my church” and “serves the master and not the servant”, according to the specialized medium Aciprensa.

Francisco sold fabric from his father’s shop who disinherited him publicly, but the young man decided to shed his clothes to express his break with the past. “From now on,” he said, “I will say ‘my father that you are in the heavens’, and not ‘my father Pietro Bernardone'”. From that moment he dedicated himself to the spiritual life.

The disease ended his life at 44 years of age, on October 3, 1226so the Catholic Church is celebrated to the saint one day after his death date, that is, every October 4.

The patron of animals

San Francisco preached to the birds of heaven and the wolves in their eagerness to convey the greatness of God, “Brother Sun, Sister Luna”, was a phrase that synthesized Franciscan theology, according to the publication from faith.

Francisco’s life was a constant praise to the creator. The “Canticle of Brother Sun”, the first masterpiece of Italian literature, written when he was still prostrated by the disease, is the expression of the freedom of a soul reconciled with God in Christ.

San Francisco de Asís is recognized as the employer of veterinarians and environmentalists.

Miracles of San Francisco de Asís

Some that are attributed to him from the Catholic Church are in the writings of San Buenaventura; One of these is that he cured a leper. “In memory of the prodigy, the Tau symbol was printed on the part.

Another mentions that a dead woman got up during her funeral to ask the priest to be able to confess.

“I was waiting to be condemned to a hard penalty, but San Francisco has asked and obtained for me, the grace to return to life, to repent and confess all my faults.”

“Three thieves stole food and drink from the monastery of San Francisco. Then San Francisco began praying for them and sent one of the monks to apologize for having treated them badly. The thieves were so moved so much that they joined the Franciscan order and passed the rest of their lives serving others,” says the specialized medium https://es.catholic.
