To make the change of place of delivery of the DNI, you must have carried out your procedure in person, both in the documents for adults and for minors. This means that you will not be able to request this change if you started the process virtually, since it will only be possible if you did it in person and within Peruvian territory, indicates the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec).
WHAT IS THE DNI?
The DNI is the only reliable instrument of identification when it contains up-to-date information: both the main data of the citizen such as address, marital status, photograph, signature and fingerprints. It is the only personal identity card in Peru for all civil, commercial, administrative, judicial acts and, in general, for all those cases in which, by legal mandate, it must be presented, including the right to vote of each citizen. Its use is mandatory for all citizens, according to articles 26 and 27 of Law No. 26497, which is the Reniec Organic Law.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO CHANGE THE PLACE OF PICK UP OF MY DNI?
If you want to change the place of collection of your document, these are the requirements. The process is also valid for DNI of minors:
- Request Form signed as an Affidavit to make the change of pick-up place issued in RENIEC Service Center
- Receipt of payment for Administrative rights.
WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO CHANGE THE PICK UP PLACE OF MY DNI?
1. Payment for the right in exchange for the place of collection of the DNI:
- Cost: S/ 5.00 (tribute code 02143)
- You can pay at Banco de la Nación; Banco de Credito del Peru (Subject to bank commission); Agents of the BN and BCP and By web in pay it.pe either viabcp.com. You must keep the receipt.
2. Go to a Reniec service center
- Ask for the Request Form with the character of a Sworn Declaration to make the change of pick-up place to the representative who is assisting you. Fill it out and provide it to them along with proof of payment.
- You can also schedule the change of place of delivery of the DNI when you start the process at the office.
3 Collect your ID
- Go to the new place you requested on the indicated date to collect your DNI. The delivery is personal for the owners or guardians of the minors.
HOW MANY DAYS DOES IT TAKE FOR THE DELIVERY OF MY DNI, IF I CHANGE THE PICK-UP PLACE?
This request extends between 10-15 days to the first delivery date, indicates the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CAN’T PICK UP MY DNI?
The collection of the DNI is personal. In case you cannot do it and you have a blue DNI, ask for the power of attorney format, sign it and put your fingerprint on it so that your representative can pick it up for you. In the case of the DNI-e, the pick-up is only personal. For the yellow DNI, the delivery is personal for the holders or guardians of the minors.
