He President Gustavo Petro will travel to Paris to attend the opening of the Olympic Games and inaugurate the ‘Colombia House’with which the country intends to promote tourism during this sporting event.
This was reported to EFE by sources from the Presidency, who added that the president will leave for Paris this Tuesday evening to be present at the inauguration which will be held next Friday 26th.

Petro will be accompanied by the Ministers of Sport, Luz Cristina López, and of Culture, Juan David Correaas well as by the Director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (Dapre), Laura Sarabia; the President of ProColombia, Carmen Caballeroand by several ambassadors.

Colombia will compete in these Olympic Games with the largest historical participation, 89 athletes in a delegation in which the Athletics, weightlifting, boxing and cycling are the sports that offer the country the most medal chances with figures like Flor Ruiz, Yenny Alvarez, Jenny Arias, Mariana Pajon and Kevin Quintero.
To these Games, the Andean country will bring 18 more athletes than at the Tokyo 2020 Olympicsin which it was represented by 71.
The delegation is made up of 52 women and 37 men. and it will be the first time that the country will be represented by more women, who will participate in 18 disciplines: Football, cycling, athletics, boxing, archery, weightlifting, wrestling, gymnastics, swimming, golf, equestrian, canoeing, fencing, sailing, tennis, triathlon, judo and skateboarding.
