The self-proclaimed Border Commands and the Pacific Guerrilla Coordinationdissidents of the former guerrilla of the FARCannounced this Wednesday their split from the Second Marquetaliaarmed group led by ‘Iván Márquez’and his intention to continue negotiating peace with the Colombian Government.
In a statement, these two groups indicated that the recent statements by ‘Iván Márquez’ are “a clear break with the coordination and unity mechanism“in the way of”search for peace, changes in the territories and reconciliation of Colombians“.

Over the weekend, a letter from the head of the Second Marquetalia to the guarantor countries of the peace dialogues in which he was unaware of the negotiation process, predicting a separation of the armed group.
“Decision that we respect, but we do not share. Peace, democratic changes and the reconciliation of peoples cannot revolve around a person or people.
