“The responsibility of approving the advancement of elections to 2023 depends solely and exclusively on Congress. If the consensus does not prosper, the Executive will immediately present two legislative initiatives as a matter of urgency”asserted in her message to the nation the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarteafter claiming citizenship.
Likewise, the head of state pointed out on her Twitter account: “Congress will debate the reconsideration of the bill that approves the advancement of presidential and congressional elections. I ask parliamentarians to reflect responsibly on the decision to be made.”
On the other hand, Boluarte expressed his commitment to work for consensus so that the lag caused by the transition process gives peace of mind to the Peruvian population.
