Many were in trouble due to the weather event that the authorities had not predicted.

News Colombia.

A strong gale hit the people of Barranquilla on the night of Monday, September 16, leaving more than 150 houses without roofs, the same number of trees fallen throughout the city and its metropolitan area, and a dozen schools affected.

Fortunately, the gusts of wind only caused material losses and no human lives, as indicated by the Mayor of Barranquilla, Alejandro Char, through a publication in which he informed the public about the work being carried out in different parts of the capital of the Atlantic to remove trees and poles fallen due to the emergency.

Although it is a meteorological phenomenon that has occurred on several occasions in the city, sometimes, many are not prepared to deal with an emergency of this magnitude, and for this reason, several suggestions must be kept in mind to avoid setbacks during the period in which the strong winds last.

For those who are surprised by hurricane-force winds inside their homes, it is essential to stay away from windows and doors, especially if they are made of glass. Another recommendation is not to leave the house to walk, since a tree or electrical grid could fall and cause death.

Cell phones and other devices must be charged to be able to communicate with the outside world in the event of any eventuality.

Having a first aid kit at home will always be important and essential for any injury that occurs at home.

Recommendations in cases of strong winds or gales
