The family lawyer, Ernesto Martínez, explained to this newspaper that a child with disabilities can receive food pension for life if this condition prevents them from self -sustaining.
He also explained that to calculate the amount that will be allocated, the needs of those who ask for these resources are taken into account, as well as the possibilities of who must give them.
In case this person leaves the country without fulfilling their duty, the expert said that the execution of the sentence abroad can be requested, prior coordination with the judge of said jurisdiction. “I can sue the parents and brothers if this person is dead or has been declared disappeared,” he added.
In addition, he said that the Civil Code clarifies that parents who are minors are also obliged to comply with this obligation.
“When a minor becomes a father or mother, he has to assume his responsibility, although in practice we see that there are grandparents or relatives who assume that duty,” he said.
