Most of the apartments offered by real estate project development companies list their prices in soles, while many apartments offered by individuals list their prices in dollars. In either of the two cases, the buyer can coordinate the form of payment with the owner and/or the bank, and choose a mortgage loan in either of the two currencies.

In this sense, it is important to know that the mortgage loan rate in dollars is, on average, 2.3% below the loan rate in soles. Therefore, a mortgage loan in said currency can be beneficial for a person whose income is in this currency. Finally, Mosqueira recommends that, if it is your first home, you consider the additional benefits offered by the Mivivienda Fund and its Green Bonus. These allow clients of real estate projects, who meet sustainability criteria, to obtain discounts on their mortgage credit rates and a lower financing cost, even, than that of a traditional bank mortgage loan. As well as, prefer real estate agencies that belong to the ASEI or ADI unions, which represents another indicator of reliability.
