The Ministry of Public Works and the Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Este began a construction project, asphalted and patch of streets in the Blonde’s Hunk and Lucerna, Santo Domingo Este municipality, and other surrounding sectors for an amount of 55 million pesos.
Heavy equipment from the Ministry was working on leveling some of the streets that already have sidewalks and containers, while others are being prepared to fulfill the mayor’s campaign promise Manuel Jimenezwho was accompanied by aldermen from various parties.
Jiménez stated that it is a day of rejoicing that fulfills the promise of solving the problem of streets in El Cachón with the support of the Ministry of Public Worksan entity that helps to execute the Mayor’s Office.
“We are fulfilling a promise, we have accompanied this community in bad times, today we are accompanying it in good times. Santo Domingo Este has a commitment, to become a fair and creative city, that cannot be done without the active application of organized sectors such as neighborhood associations, churches, business and sports groups”, he said.
For his part, Roberto Herrera, deputy minister of Public Workssaid that about 15 days ago, President Luis Abinader instructed all the ministers to meet with the communities and that in the case of Public Works They met with the mayor’s office, which requested the intervention of El Cachón.
He reported that not only El Cachón street will be intervened, but also Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas street, which joins 4 de Agosto street with Charles de Gaulle street through the internal part of Los Mina Norte, will be rebuilt.
In the same way, the Madre Petra street that joins the streets horizontal with Charles de Gaulle to relieve traffic in that area. He maintained that the more than 55 million pesos are for the work to begin immediately.
The priest Ricardo de la Rosa, parish priest of the place, and Miguel Almonte, president of the Lucerna Neighborhood Union, thanked the construction and repair work of the streets of the Blonde’s Hunk.
