In the first quarters of the last 10 years, exports Dominican Republic totals have been led by the Prayedmedical instruments, “pure” cigarettes, circuit breakers, t shirts and t-shirts, among others.
In the first quarter of 2013, 275.31 million dollars were exported in Prayedincluding the Prayed platinum-plated, rough, for non-monetary use. In 2022, between January and March, those same products reached 337.11 million dollars in exports.
Although the comparisons are quarterly, it should be noted that in the pandemic years 2020 and 2021 they were the two periods that most Prayed has been exported since 2013: 1,692.10 million dollars and 1,674.62 million dollars, respectively. In 2013, this product represented 1,151.84 million dollars.
The exports from Prayed maintain a positive trend in recent years, standing out among the exports totals from the Dominican Republic, which between January and March 2022 amount to 3,040.58 million dollars, according to data from the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominican).
Compared to the same period in 2021, the exports totals in the first quarter of 2022 exceeded those of last year with 272.54 million dollars, for a growth of 9.85%.
The numbers up to March 2022 exceed those of 2019 with 651.04 million dollars: they went from 2,389.54 million dollars in 2019 to 3,040.58 million dollars, for a growth of 27.25%.
Destinations
In the first quarter of 2022, the United States market continues to be the main destination for exports of the Dominican Republic, serving as the recipient of 51% of the loads.
On this occasion, the United States is followed by: Haiti, with a participation of 9.62%; Switzerland, with 7.92%; Puerto Rico, with 5.37%; India (3.74%); China (3.12%) and the Netherlands (2.88%), among others.
According to data from ProDominicanduring March there were exports valued at 1,204.32 million dollars. Products valued at 593.68 million were sent to the United States, for a 49.3% share of the total exported in March 2022.
During March, the products that had departures from the Dominican Republic reached 91 countries around the world.
Products
Of the exported products, the Prayedincluding Prayed platinum, unworked, for monetary use, with an amount of 337.11 million dollars; cigars, including blunt cigars and cigarillos containing tobacco with 238.02 million dollars.
Also, they rank third exports of medical, surgical or veterinary instruments and apparatus with a value of 222.87 million dollars. In addition, there is the shipment of circuit breakers for a voltage of 1,000 v, exporting products amounting to 193.57 million dollars.
Other products that the Dominican Republic is exporting are: ferronickel and jewelry and parts thereof, made of precious metals other than silver, including reversed or plated precious metal plates, among others.
