President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) concludes his six-year term and he retires to “La Chingada”, a country house to which he always mentioned that he would go after ending his participation in Mexican politics, since he has no more plans to be active in that scenario after being the head of the Federal Executive.
Although this week he stated that he will not arrive immediately in Palenque, because he plans acclimatize for a few days in Mexico Citywill continue with his plan in “La Chingada”, a quinta (country house) located in Palenque, Chiapas.

Why “La Chingada”?
“Do you know why ‘La Chingada’? A Zapatista leader, Genovevo de la O, after the revolution he named a little ranch like this, ‘La Chingada,'” López Obrador mentions the name of the farm and says that when they asked Don Genovevo where he was going, he responded, “I’m going “La Chingada”.
Genovevo de la O was a general born in the town of Santa María Ahuacatitlán, Morelos on January 3, 1876. It is known that much of his life he protected and helped the farm workers and the community members, so much so that he even had problems with Porfirio Díaz and He also joined the ranks of Emiliano Zapata in 1911.
With an important role in the Revolution, at its end he dedicated himself to being a highly influential politician. He also founded the Zapatista Front in 1049 and in 1945 the Federation of People’s Parties of Mexico, which he presided over for a few years. He had a peaceful death on June 12, 1952, in the same place where he was born.
