What is known about the robbery and shooting at the Masa bakery, in the north of Bogotá

On the night of this Saturday, November 30, an incident occurred in the dough bakerynorth of Bogotá. According to preliminary information, two men entered the establishment to rob and intimidated the diners with firearms.

It was also announced that a CTI agent was at the scene, who, upon noticing the theft, decided to use his service weapon to confront the situation. This began a series of shots that sparked a chase through the nearby streets.

Apparently, those responsible were after a victim who was wearing a high-end watch and followed him to the bakery to strip him of his belongings.

The authorities are collecting evidentiary material to find the whereabouts of the criminals. Besides, The Police are working with security cameras and testimonies to determine the escape route used by the assailants.

This is not the first time that an incident of this type has occurred in Masa. The establishment had already been the focus of robberies on two previous occasions, which has led to questions about the effectiveness of security measures in the area.

Mayor Galán speaks out

Through his X account, the mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, expressed concern about the recurrence of thefts at this point in the city. “The repetition of a theft in this place has no justification with the surveillance that has been deployed in the area”he indicated.

That is why, given the events that occurred, the president called a meeting together with the capital’s Police and the District Security Secretariat.

Likewise, he emphasized the need to evaluate and rethink security measures.
